Sunday Brunch.

The whole weekend just flew past! My darling friends arrived over the weekend to Hong Kong for week, and spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday just gossiping, eating and drinking!
What a lovely weekend!
On Sunday we joined few more friends at the Zuma restaurant in the Landmark building for an amazing japanese champagne brunch! Just fabulous! The starters in the buffet we just mind blowing and as we kept eating more and more of them, and flushing them down with sake, we couldn't almost eat our main courses!
Afterwards, we moved to the upstairs lounge to enjoy our desert selections that were just unbelievable!
I think you got it! Yes, I highly recommend ZUMA for Sunday brunch if you happen to be in Hong Kong!

Oh yes, it took ten of us 5 hours to consume all the food, number of carafes of sake, and approx 10 bottles of Perrier Jouet Champagne...

Hong Kong from air.

WOW! What a fun filled Sunday!
Couple of weeks ago I attended a charity auction party and won in auction a helicopter flightseeing around Hong Kong Island for myself and group of friends. As the girls have been so amazing sorting out my social calendar, I decided to treat them with the ride.
We met by the escalator on Hollywood Road and took taxi down to Wanchai Heliport for flight briefing and then for our flight.
It was SO much fun, even there was quite bad fog on the Victoria Harbour side, but the weather was all clear in Aberdeen and Stanley.
If you want to do something different with friends, give a call to Hong Kong Heliservices and book yourself a chopper! You gonna love it!!!

Final preparations before take off.
Here we go!!!!

The Art of saying NO.

There was very interesting article on the Guardian on last Saturday on how to say no.

Here is short quote from the column, I really recommend you click through and read it, it might change your life!!!

The advice of etiquette experts on dealing with unwanted invitations, or overly demanding requests for favours, has always been the same: just say no. That may have been a useless mantra in the war on drugs, but in the war on relatives who want to stay for a fortnight, or colleagues trying to get you to do their work, the manners guru Emily Post's formulation – "I'm afraid that won't be possible" – remains the gold standard. Excuses merely invite negotiation. The comic retort has its place (Peter Cook: "Oh dear, I find I'm watching television that night"), and I'm fond of the tautological non-explanation ("I can't, because I'm unable to"). But these are variations on a theme: the best way to say no is to say no. Then shut up.

Around Hong Kong.

I spent weekend past going around the Hong Island and Kowloon, here is a picture essay of my tour.
Let's start from my street, just outside my door step starts the wet market and you can buy your vegetables, meat, fish or poultry, or Chinese medicines...

Skycrapers of Hong Kong Island - from Wanchai to Causeway Bay and back to Central.

Star Ferry over the Victoria Harbour to Kowloon.

Sunny Sunday in Stanley.

Washing powder.

Today is the laundry day and found my way to the laundrette in the building, but to my surprise there was a sign that you need to bring along your own detergent.
So laundry basket back to the flat, and off to the near by corner shop to get some laundry detergent. Easy task right?
But when I reached the aisle with laundry detergent, to my panic, all the boxes where printed in Chinese!
Luckily noticed on the bottom shelf few boxes of Castle (?). Never heard of this brand before, but box is full of promises, and it was the only one that I managed to read, so we'll how my laundry turns out.

Veuve Cliquet Ponsardin.

Weekend was full of sightseeing and champagne!

Pictures from the sightseeing tours coming up later today, below is picture from Saturday night at the Dragon I...
And no, it was not just Yee Ling and myself drinking from that bottle... we did share!

Angels Rock!

I have been in Hong Kong now for three days, so it was about to the time to be invited to my first proper party here. Attended a charity auction party at the Prive club last night called Angels Rock 2010!

What a fantastic night!!! And all for good cause!
It was charity organisation Angels for Orphans who threw their annual fundraising event at the Prive Club.

Hosted by Rosemary Vandenbroucke, it was a glamorous celebrity studded evening of cocktails and live entertainment.

But most importantly, there was an auction to raise funds for Sunrise Children's Village in Cambodia. Up for auction was a couture dress valued at over HK$10,000 by Dorian Ho, a 'Bali Bliss Package' including flights for 2 to Bali to enjoy a 7 night stay in a luxury 5 star three bedroom pool villa at Karma Kandara Bali, a 'Get Physical' package including a six month membership at Pure Fitness and Yoga plus training sessions with expert personal trainers and much more.

I ended up bidding for a helicopter sightseeing and to my excitement got it!!! Private flight with 4 friends!!!
So now just need to book it!
