Rain, clouds, fog and Mt Fuji & Hakkone ;)

Day trip out of Tokyo didn't go 'exactly' as planned as the Mother Earth turned against us, but had great day regardless!

It is behind me! Honest!
My friend Mika from Helsinki.
Shrine by the 5th station.

On a boat cruise on lake near Hakkone.

Our cable car up to the viewing platform, and yes you can guess what the view to Mt Fuji's direction was like...
There is always time to be kid :)
Our Shinkansen back to Tokyo...

Tokyo Disneyland.

Oh been so busy with work that haven't managed to upload pictures enough quickly! So here is some shots from my first ever visit to Disneyland! Mike and myself had day out at the Tokyo Disneyland, and did we feel like kids again! So much fun!!!

Oh and went to see Cirque du Soleil "Zed" after day out! And it was fab!

Tokyo from air.

My friend Mika was over for long weekend and ended up doing lots of fun things!
For example for sightseeing...To get bird's eye view of Tokyo, we jumped on helicopter and flew over Tokyo!
So much fun!

Welcome dinner and drinks.

Had an absolutely fantastic evening on Friday as my colleagues in Tokyo office took me out for dinner and drinks in Shinjuku. First, enjoyed a long dinner with amazing starters and then had huge quantities of wonderful soba! And yes, flushed it down with nice sake and beer!

We continued the evening in a tiny, tiny bar, of course with karaoke! So much fun!

Tokyo.

Few days in Tokyo now behind. :) Still here, haven't got lost in translation as yet...
But I need to say that not speaking or reading Japanese does create challenging moments every day being work meeting or just me trying to buy milk from the corner shop. I can almost feel you now wondering why buying milk can be difficult, oh well, how do you differentiate milk carton from a yoghurt carton normally? And what do you get in the bottle that has a label "Asahi"? Apple juice or beer?

Anyway, here is few shots from last weekend, enjoy!

Shibuya crossing.

Hachiko statue.
Window shopping along Ginza
Imperial Palace East Garden

Decided to do some laundry as well... easy!

Tokyo

Here I am then. New city, new challenges again ahead of me.
But it was interesting journey to get here... I received email and text message last night from Cathay Pacific saying that my flight to Narita from HKG had been cancelled. Tried to call all possible numbers to reschedule my flight, and finally after queueing over twenty minutes I got through to their sales office in London, UK and managed to re-book myself for another morning flight out from Hong Kong. What a drama! And I was supposed to have good night sleep before my early flight...
Flight was ok thought and watched Alice in Wonderland during the flight with my lunch, both were ok - movie and food ;)

After arrival got through immigration and customs rather quickly, but ended up waiting for bus to town for nearly an hour as just missed the previous one, oh well, it was nice day and was enjoying my iTunes.

And here we are now then, at the BUREAU Hirakawacho 2 in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo!

Nice modern apartment, with bit funny shower arrangement and toilet that has more buttons than my iTouch!

My lounge.
My kitchenette.
My bedroom.
And the toilet...

But it is really quiet neighbourhood! Very close to the Imperial Palace and lots of government buildings in this neighbourhood, but this building is on narrow side street and cannot here any noises coming from windows!

Tomorrow is my first day at the GI Tokyo Office... hmm.. well.. we'll see if I find my way there, I found my local Metro station, but do I manage to get right line to right direction... We'll see that tomorrow!
